Doraemon is my biggest hero of all time. There are several versions of how Doraemon’s story ends, after Fujiko F Fujio passed away. My favorite is the one with Doraemon running out of his battery power, and Nobita was given a choice between replacing the battery inside a frozen Doraemon, which would be able to give life back to Doraemon but at the same time would automatically reset Doraemon's brain hence he will not remember anything or anyone. Another option is to wait for competent robotics technician who would be able to resurrect the cat-robot one day.Tough choice. Nobite chose the later option. Nobita swore that very day to work hard in school, graduate with honors, and become that robotics technician. In the future, it was revealed that Japan has become a Republic, and Hidetoshi Dekisugi is the President. Nobita eventually become a robotics techinician. He successfully resurrected Doraemon in the future as a robotics professor. Nobita then realized that he was the creator of Doraemon, and on 22nd century he sent Doraemon to the current to cut the loop. *** And why, thou may ask, I wrote about Doraemon. Well, here's why. One big barrier why we stop advancing is because we stop dreaming. But the bigger barrier is because we don’t know what we can dream of. And that’s what future-Nobita was trying to do. To give a leap in the current society that will force people to rethink on whats possible. And that’s maybe that’s how we will be able to help the children. Not only by teaching them math and science, but also to show them millions of options to live their life, and make them believe that there is no dream is too distant and no doors is closed. Not only to make them do the homework, but also to build the right attitude towards life. My brother just told me that at any point of your life, you will know what you know. And if you stop learning new things, you just don’t know what you don’t know. Going to school will tell you what you don’t know, so that you can learn further about things that you don’t know. Learning is equal to entering the darkness of the unknown. Because by only realizing the existence of the darkness we will apreciate a light. Happy Hari Kartini, to all teachers and Pengajar Muda.
